Craft Fair Saturday, November 16 at SMA - Come if you Can!

SMA's Craft Fair is a place where Student Council Students help out with children's activities.  Will you be able to help?  Let Sra. Dromey Heeter know.  We'd love to see you there!

It's Saturday, November 16 from 9 - 1.  You do NOT have to stay the entire day but help is always needed!  Thank you!

Wednesday, November 6, Waste Management Field Trip

Kindly return Permission Slips and, yes, you may dress down!

Who:  5th Grade & Student Council Members
When: Wednesday, November 6, 2013
10:30 - 1:45

Where:  Turnkey Recycling (Waste Management) Rochester, NH

Why:  To investigate where our trash and recycling goes, to learn more about Waste Management, to confirm and understand three basic ideas of Waste Management, to truly understand what can and cannot be recycled.

According to Turnkey Recycling,

"In 2011, we managed nearly 13M tons of Recycled Commodities"

"In 2011 we created enough energy to power 1.17 + M homes"

"We have dedicated 26K acres to Wildlife Habitats"

Students will see landfills - both full and on their way - and have a classroom overview of the science of trash. We will be on the bus for the tour of the waste management facilities and will have a guide.
